DEXA Scans

DEXA scans use a fine beam of x-rays to measure bone density, typically within the hips and spine. The process takes about ten minutes and is painless. Many of our centers offer this service as a way of quantifying osteoporosis or brittle bones for our patients in order to help predict who is at risk for hip, wrist, spine and other fractures from minor falls.
